The BHRTI Course Tutors
Our course tutors have impeccable academic and professional qualifications in addition to years of experience using Ericksonian Hypnosis in a practical environment. They all subscribe to the principles outlined in our mission statement and are dedicated to providing the highest standards of hypnotherapy training. In addition to our training team we also have a team of skilled supervisors who attend our courses to guide new students.
Jos Van Boxtel is a hypnotherapist with an established practice in Utrecht in the Netherlands. He has considerable experience of applying EricksonianHypnosis, NLP, EMDR, Neurosemantics and Solution Focused Therapy with a wide range of problems with over 1000 clients. He holds qualifications at Master Practitioner level in hypnotherapy and NLP. He is co-author with BHRTI founder Stephen Brooks of a forthcoming series Ericksonian case studies due to be published in 2017. Jos is the tutor for the BHRTI Ericksonian Hypnosis University Summer School course in London.
Stephen Brooks was born 21 July 1951 in Cambridge, UK. As an early practicing British psychotherapist and hypnotherapist he was the first to introduce Ericksonian Hypnosis to Europe in 1979. Throughout his career he has pioneered the use of Indirect Hypnosis in the medical profession with courses in over 20 British hospitals and universities. He developed an approach to psychotherapy based on Non Attachment which directly treats the causes of problems and emphasises compassion for patients. Stephen is founder of the BHRTI and is our Online Tutor.
Dr Matthias Kaiser PhD received a masters in education in 1987 and a Ph.D. in linguistics in 1992 from the University of Leipzig. He was awarded a postdoctoral grant in cognitive science and artificial intelligence at the department for cognitive studies at the University of California at Berkeley and the International Computer Science Institute at Berkeley. From 1994 to 1997 Dr. Kaiser worked as senior research scientist at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. From 2006 to 2008 he was asked to conduct research as a guest scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Kaiser originally trained in Ericksonian hypnotherapy with the BHRTI achieving a Master Practitioner Diploma in Ericksonian Hypnosis. Today he is a practicing hypnotherapist and coach and author of a forthcoming book on the work of our founder.
Stefan Fiebig MA studied philosophy and psychoanalysis at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and holds an M.A. in philosophy. During his time at university he was a tutor and later took postgraduate courses in anthropology in order to study the trance-techniques used by mystics, shamans and yogis. He has been a coach since 1995 using hypnosis, aspects of NLP and various other forms of trancework and coaching. He is a nationally licensed Health Practitioner for Psychotherapy Heilpraktiker Psych. in Germany. Since 1997 he has been a trainer in the field of adult education (subjects include: philosophy, trancework, meditation, communication and Gestalt work based upon Joseph Campbell’s research). He is a certified Master Practitioner in Ericksonian Hypnosis and he has been a course tutor on the BHRTS Diploma in Indirect Ericksonian Hypnotherapy training.
John Hinchliffe holds a BSc in Clinical Hypnosis and a Masters in Education, an on-line Course Certificate in the Theory and Principles of Indirect Hypnosis, Practitioner Certificate in Ericksonian Psychotherapy and NLP, a BHRTI Summer School Practitioner Certificate in the Practical Application of Indirect Hypnosis. Ericksonian Psychotherapy and NLP, a BHRTI Practitioner Diploma in Indirect Hypnosis, Ericksonian Psychotherapy and NLP and a BHRTI Two Weekend Intensive Training in Ericksonian Hypnosis and NLP Certficate. He works in private practice in Braintree in the UK.
Clare Hudman was trained as an Occupational Therapist at the University Hospital of Wales. She was a director of the educational charity Colony Holidays for Schoolchildren and is a Master Practitioner in Ericksonian Hypnosis. She has a wealth of teaching experience within the therapy field and is currently a Clinical Hypnotherapist in private practice and an Advanced Lightning Process trainer and practitioner working in the UK.
Brian Watson holds a Higher National Diploma in Hypnotherapy from St Mary’s University London, a Diploma in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Counselling from the British Hypnosis Research and Training Institute and qualifications in stress management and consultancy. He has over two decades of experience in hypnosis and NLP and runs a private hypnotherapy practice in the UK.
